Mountain Design ( Thailand ) has been running quality courses since 2001. Our safety record is outstanding, and we have never had a fatal accident or maiming injury incurred by either our participants or our staff.

Each trip is accompanied by at least 1 Tourist guide licence,1 instructor and 1 assistant Instructor, equalling a minimum participant to instructor ratio of 6 to 1. In most cases our Assistant Instructors are Thai Nationals who bring a vital cultural and linguistic element to the overall experience. They are well versed in the identification of local flora and fauna.The Assistant Instructors have CPR and Wilderness First Aid training. Mountain Design (Thailand) Instructors are a mix of highly qualified national and foreign national outdoor educators, They must have a minimum of CPR, First Aid and Wilderness First Responder training, extensive experience in leading expeditions and outdoor education.

Specifically related to injuries and evacuations, Our instructors are normally equipped to respond to most of the typical, but not necessarily frequent, incidents such as sprains, minor cuts, gastro-intestinal tract problems, infected blisters and dehydration related problems. However when a situation requires treatment from a physician, the participants will be evacuated by an instructor either on foot, stretcher, 4x4 or any kind of vehicles to the nearest hospital with special treatment due to our accident insurance covered.

The following is a brief description of each certification that our instructors have in order to provide a safe and adventure filled experience for participants.

First Aid Course: Due to the remote nature of our trips our lead field staff are required to have successfully completed the First Aid Course. Certification from Hospital.

Australian School of Mountaineering: Instructor Scheme (Rock climbing and abseiling)
Our lead Instructor has successfully completed a course in Instructor Scheme (Rock climbing and abseiling) covers many aspects of Abseiling and rock climbing Activities and concludes with a thorough assessment of topic including Mountain Navigation Course, Advance Abseil / Improvised Rope Rescue Course, Accident Response & Mountain First Aid Seminar, Rock climbing Supervisor seminar, Technical Skills & Group Management seminar, Aid Climbing & Big Wall Technique.

Australian School of Mountaineering: Abseiling Leadership and Instruction
Our lead Instructor has successfully completed a course in Abseiling Leadership and Instruction covers many aspects of Abseiling leadership and concludes with a thorough assessment of topic including Abseiling, Ethics, Equipment, Site selection, Rigging, Risk Management, Teaching Methods, Technical Ability, Emergency Procedures and rescue.

Outland Expeditions Australia: Climbing Leader Course
Our lead Instructor has successfully completed a course in Climbing Leader Course: Topic including Rock climbing Techniques, Equipment, anchors, rigging, simple problem solving, vertical rescue, incident management, Cliff management.

PADI Dive Master :
While only our PADI Instructor conducts the SCUBA training section of our courses, Our instructors are trained and certified SCUBA divers. This helps them become more proficient at a number of water activities.

Canoe Kayak Education Australia (CKEA): Rapid Improvement Course
Our Instructor has completed a Rapid Improvement Course. And has many experiences in Canoe and Kayaking in many areas in Australia and Thailand .

Bushsports Australia: Navigation Education
Our instructors are also trained in Navigation Education, technical skills, Orientation by using GPS Technology, Map Reading, Compass skills and feature-based navigation.

Are the trips safe?
Mountain Design ( Thailand ) has been set up the international standard of safety in outdoor and adventure activities. All of our instructors and staffs are well trained in all activities, holding minimum certifications in First-Aid, & rock climbing, high rope activities, and some mountain rescue, and Swift Water Rescue certifications. All groups travel with a full medical kit, and routes have been well established. Mountain Design ( Thailand ) has an excellent safety record, and fortunately we have never had a fatality or a maiming injury. Safety is the first priority when approaching any of a broad spectrum of activities.

Do I need to have any outdoor experience to go with the trips?
No outdoor experience is necessary to attend a trip. Any one can be participate in our trips.

What is the average age of participants on trips?
The minimum age for our trip is 14 and there is no maximum age. Generally, if you are 14 or older and want to come to the trips, it's time to have fun experiences!

Do I need to bring special, or equipment for my trips?
We provide all equipments, except your personal items.

How do I choose a trip?
We offer a wide variety of trips. The one that is right for you will depend on the season and amount of time you have available and your activities of interest.

How do I organize and plan a group trip?
